Will There Be A Meeting On The 7th

Only one day after the Chengdu Aviation Vocational and Technical College incident about student-cadre arrogance, another case at Sichuan University of Science and Engineering exploded online over forced holiday greetings and punishment for getting a name wrong.
The Beijing News | Must students send holiday greetings to student cadres? Sichuan University of Science and Engineering says it will investigate seriously
The Beijing News reported that on October 2, a netizen posted on Weibo saying that student cadres in the student union at Sichuan University of Science and Engineering required members to send holiday greetings to other cadres, and that getting a name wrong led to punishment: copying the correct name fifty times and being criticized at a large meeting. That same night, the university’s official microblog issued a statement saying it had received complaints about inappropriate language from student cadres and had already begun an investigation.
Screenshots from a group chat showed that a student surnamed Ye, in a QQ group called “2018 Student Union Organization Department”, told members to send Mid-Autumn Festival greetings to other ministers and the presidium so as to “show the style of our department”. The message also warned members to be careful with forms of address: “I don’t want other ministers telling me that one of our junior members typed a name wrong or called someone ‘minister so-and-so’, especially members of the presidium.”
Other screenshots showed a new department member sending Mid-Autumn greetings to a student cadre and then being told to copy the recipient’s name fifty times and make a self-criticism at a meeting. The screenshot was also posted back into the department group, where another cadre scolded the student: “We have repeated the name and gender many times today, why are you still making this mistake?” The same person added that anyone making such mistakes again would be punished by copying the student-club management rules and the student-union constitution.
At around 11 p.m. that night, the university’s official account released a statement saying that the school had already received complaints concerning inappropriate language used by student cadres in their work. The university party committee attached great importance to the matter, would investigate seriously and carefully, and would later release the result to the public.

@卖萌的零食工: “Copy my name fifty times and do a self-criticism at a big meeting” [smile]. What school has produced this kind of student official again? // @落落不哭站起来撸: The original poster in the comments said they were from Sichuan University of Science and Engineering. Their Tieba post had already been deleted several times, and they had even been threatened with retaliation after the holiday.
@不是毒奶色我是专业解说黄旭东: I wish the teachers and leaders who once taught me at the university a happy holiday, all the best, success in their careers, and good health. Students these days, really. What is wrong with wishing leaders and teachers a happy holiday? I graduated from this university too, and I liked my teachers very much, especially my counselor Teacher He Hongying.
@陈明琪: If the department is this broken, then just stop staying in it. What can they really do to you once you leave? Don’t take them that seriously.
@咄咄鸡: It reminds me of a sentence I once saw on Weibo: you’re acting so grand that when you enter society later, you may feel embarrassed about working for anyone else.
@灿烂又糜烂: Hahahahaha. It is genuinely hilarious. It looks like kids playing an ultra-realistic house game.
@谁是我的喵: I was just rewatching Drama Dormitory recently and happened to run into this.
